Rotary does it again!

Once more Rotary and Rotarians lead the way in humanitarian aid. The devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Haiti, which has killed more than a thousand people and left an estimated 2.5 million people homeless, has dominated our news recently. What has not been so well publicised, though, is that Rotary’s own ShelterBox had response teams there within 36 hours and now more than 1000 boxes have arrived and are being used as hospital wards as well as shelter for those who lost everything.
If any of you have been to a supermarket over the past few days, it is quite likely that you will have found a team of Rotarians armed with collecting tins and buckets outside the main doors. Some will have had a demonstration ShelterBox on display, as well!
Many, many, many thanks for the amazing sympathy and generosity shown by the public. The message is coming from all quarters that sums between £1500 and £2000 have been given by you in a single day. You have helped Rotary and ShelterBox make like more bearable for so many unfortunate people. The task is not finished. There is still a long way to go. Please continue with your support.
